Hello everyone

My name is Adrian I run a UT and web server over at www.adies.net
I run server from home. Its a AMD Dual Opteron system I mashed together from a lot of freebee bits and a few bought.

I originally setup the server of course because UT is my favourite online FPS and also to learn how servers work. This has given me a massive chance to learn then put to good use skills like php, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Unreal Script, Unreal Map, Unreal Server, Windows Server, Linux Server, Photoshop oh and actually playing UT I guess :D the one and only problem with my server is my internet speed / latency. Most of the time its fine but too much traffic and pings get a bit high, so im always trying to find a cheap hosted UT server that I can run as a primary server.

My favourite Unreal Tournament game type is Strangelove with normal game speed and weapons. Strangelove is most probably the best ever modification for UT it adds a flying vehicle to UT that doubles as a weapon, more to the point this mod’s execution and pure quality make it an amazing game type.

My nick name is |>ADE<|_King_Kong. I originally started playing as king_kong just to spam around on my server and the name stuck quickly. In an interesting twist the name "King_Kong" has massive relevance in the Strangelove mod world. In the cult film Dr.Strangelove the main characters called Major T.J. "King" Kong played by Slim Pickens rides a nuclear bomb to its target, which is exactly what you as the player do in a UT Strangelove server.

Apart from UT I really like American classic muscle cars, and hanging out with my pals.

Hopefully my UT pals will sign up here soon, they are a good community and I consider them true friends.

I think she means she liked Deathmatch in Giant Maps, not capture the flag.

I think she means she liked Deathmatch in Giant Maps, not capture the flag.

I was leaning in that direction but assumption can be dangerous :D
I guess your talking about my microhec map, I have had a lot of requests to make a Death Match version, one day I will do it
I originally had another warehouse on the map with metal racking inside it was ace with the flack cannon and good lighting, flack would go everywhere but I had to reduce lighting and brushes something about maximum brush limit exceeded lol ;)

My DM version would be one team base and a bit more detail much better lighting layout and effects.

I also made a UT99 version of ctf-electricfields from UT2004 this map which is awesome but too much for UT to handle some of the shapes I created in UED are brilliant and quite complex.

Hi

Ive made I big crazy copy of UT2004 CTF-DE-ElecFields for UT99, it works well except when i add lighting its a little bit slow.

I wondered if anyone had advice on making the lighting settings a bit more basic. Ive tried it with every surface unlit and the map works fine (but this looks a bit rubbish), ive also set "low shadow detail" and "dirty shadows" which did help.

Thanks

That maps does look pretty sick looking.

Most of the people who are on here currently though are used to the "giant maps"; you know. The huge bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, garages, ect... where your like the size of a little green army man toy.

Thank you
I really want to get the map finnished it just needs lighting that doesnt kill the map

In total I spent a solid 36 hours on that map.

I know Rosebum servers last time i was on there rocketx/strangelove arena server its nice but I cant stand UT without normal weapons.

My clan playes a lot of Bunny Track which is a fun change of pace sometimes.

All the GMC maps were awsome...we were blessed with some outstanding map makers.
