Took my wife to this place tonight. It was GREAT! but a little spendy. We put away about $150.00 to include drinks, meal, tip. We dont do this all the time because of the price. http://www.meltingpot.com A different experience worth trying. You cook the food at your own table which I thought was cool

I love Fondue!
Normally get friends at the house and talk at the table for couple hours when we eat fondue :)

My then fiancee and I went there last Valentine's day at 9:30PM. Had a VERY bad experience. We made the reservation weeks in advance and they didnt tell us it was going to be a set menu, not a full menu of choices.

The couple behind us had their 18 month, or younger, child out with them, keep in mind, it was after 9:30PM at this point...

The kid, being tired... kept screaming and the dad kept taking the little shitmachine out to calm it down. Then he gets mad at me, because he can tell I am NOT FKN HAPPY with them.

Oh, and they figured in a 20% gratuity, and we had to cook our own food... all they had to do was bring us drinks and tell us the 3 options they were serving for dinner.

When the manager finally did come out to talk to us... he looked like the friend of the kid from the show "The Wonder Years". He offered us a $50 gift card to come back and try it again. Hell, I couldn't even give it away for the longest time.

Bad experience all around... They shouldn't have let someone in with a kid that late to begin with, and the parents should have better love for their kid than to keep it out that late. Their waiters and waitresses need attitude adjustments, and the kid for a manager should have changed his diaper before he came to work.

Hopefully they will close them and make room for a better place.

once again, it was valentine's day... AND it was very late at night. oh, and it wasnt just our night that prick was ruining... OTHERS complained, and it was said several times... I would NEVER have my kids out that late... and I am assuming this one person was a parent that actually threatened to call CPS...

Either way... I am sure it the experience would have sucked without the morons there... just based on how the waiters and waitresses were, as well as the conduct of the manager when we, and others brought the issue to his attention.

As much as I would never want to have the kids out that late, shift happens.
You gotta get over that shift :)

We take our son out to eat with us fairly often. Not much choice - we can't find a babysitter for evenings or weekends. One thing for sure though - I would never take him out to eat at 9:30 pm. Thats just asking for trouble. I don't need to spend $$ to deal with a cranky kid and not enjoy my meal. I can do that at home for free!

Before Katrina blew down the Grand Casino (in Skillz home town), I had an "altercation" w/ some guy who had his 2 very young children (between ages 5 and 7) out w/ he and his wife at 2AM in the morning! Some people are just fucking stupid.

Exactly... and one thing I do want to make clear, while the child was screaming its fkn head off... I really didnt have a problem with the kid... it wasnt his fault his parents are both "products of a weak moment". The kid couldnt pick his parents. It was THEIR FAULT he was screaming his damn head off.

On another topic, speaking of not knowing when to wear a condom... anyone hear of the Westboro Baptist Church? While on our honeymoon, my wife and I realized that church was really close to the route we were taking...

These are the "Phelps" family of insane people that picket at marine and other servicemen's funerals. Their "church" is located in a subdivision in Topeka, KS... it looks like a house, with 9 foot tall walls around the yard, security cameras that would make Fort Knox jealous, an American Flag, upside down and beneath a Canadian Flag, that is also upsidedown. They have a big banner that can be seen from the street that lists a website that I wont list on here, because I dont want to promote hit counts on their bullshit site. There are a ton of videos of these freaks on youtube if you havent heard of them. They also have a website with several songs they have rewritten to serve their purpose.

They hate America and everything it stands for, but they say they can not leave because Americans needs to hear the "Real God's Word" I wish there were rumors of Weapons of Mass Destruction in their house...

Hey guys my wife and I thought about this place to eat. It was good but, too expensive for what you get. We would rather take 4 persons to Bonefish grill for the same price and get a full gut of good food and drink for the price of 2 at the Melting pot. This place is much better http://www.bonefishgrill.com/home.asp :)

While we were out touring the west... We ate at a Zio's in Colorado Springs... Italian food, VERY good. Their people were VERY nice too. The only other one they mentioned they had was in Independence, MO.
