Wanted to drop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Are we allowed to say to say "Merry Christmas" here? Believe it or not I work at Penn State and it's not generally acceptable anymore. It's "Happy Holidays" Christmas trees are not allowed on campus in public areas. When did society become so uptight you can't even put up a Christmas Tree? Blows my mind and makes me wonder where it will all end.

BTW, I used to be DeathKilla, always hated that name. It makes no sense, how can you kill Death in a Killa kind of way. Duhhh... then again most clan names make no sense.

Geeze I haven't played UT or any kind of FPS game in ages. Actually I don't even recall the last time I've played at all. About the time 2004 came out I said enough is enough. I had spent enough of my life wasting away useful hours giving myself carpel tunnel. Now I'm supposed to spend a ton more money on new hardware to play UT 2004. Screw that I'm going back to my old hobby working on cars. Sometimes it seems less expensive, certainly more fun. Some might remember I'm a big car nut, my last ride was a 1996 LT4 Corvette. Sold it and bought something else to occupy my time.

UT99, I have to be honest though, how is it possible a silly game can bring so many people together? Who remembers sitting up nights going "one more game" RIGHT! That always turned into "hell I've gone without sleep before, I can do it again" showing up on the UTGMC forum the next day to see what everyone is bitching about. Come on you know you all loved the drama that went on there. Who can forget the Greek and Andy going at it, good stuff there. Andy's perfect forum... "YOU'RE ALL BANNED" You gotta wonder where where 2Hotty and the Greek ever got to. It's a miracle I was never banned, well I was banned from a lot of servers but never a forum. I might miss another flame thread if I were banned, who could live with themselves if you missed out on a good flame thread?

Ahhh but like all good or shitty things in life it must come to an end. Sooner or later we all had to realize life would get in the way. You can only ignore the wife so long with a game until you're on the brink of divorce court. I know for some of you that may have been the point. LOL

So here's the latest project. 1977 Nova Concourse, wayyy back in 1984 a 1977 Nova was my first car. I had always wanted to get another one and do it right. I found this one on Ebay motors, bought it sight unseen mainly because it had everything I wanted and was unmolested. If anyone molests anything I want it to be me. For you car guys what I've done so far is rebuild the front suspension with poly bushings. Installed 3.42 gears along with an 8.5" factory Eaton style posi carrier. Installed a B&M Transpak shift kit along with a TCI Breakaway 2500 Torque converter. Next comes the Gm Performance parts ZZ383 Stroker motor. I'm worried about how to get 425 Horsepower and 460ft lbs. of torque to the ground without cutting up a cherry car too much in the rear end. We'll see how that goes.

Here's a pic of the car after getting the rake I wanted by cutting 1/2 coil from each spring. Welded in little metal spacers in the rear shackles for now, once I'm happy with final ride height I'll have custom leaf springs bent up. Gotta love them whitewalls, the white cabriolet top is going also, changing it to black. Some other minor body changes will happen also down the line.

Merry Christmas to you too. My first car was a '77 Nova. Don't twist up your frame coming off the line.

When I started driving around 1982 seemed like half the kids in my school drove Novas. Myself? I drove a sky blue (and rusty) 69 VW beetle.

I do believe it's part of the mid-life crisis. Buy a Corvette, nope that didn't do it. I know.. I'll try buying a car I had when I was 18. Yeah, that'll do it.

I've still got the same car I had when I was 18. Its a 1969 Mustang. :)

BTW I'm 47 hehe

I still have the mustang I got when i was 18 but it's an 87GT. Do I get extra points for picking up a matching 87gt convertible or still having my Dad's old bronco that I drove the day I got my license?

As for that nova... Aren't those years subframe cars? re-enforce it, add a cross member and ladder bars with coil overs. You don't have to tub it out for that stuff and you'll get more room for tire and better traction.;)

Yeah Tidy, they're sub frame cars. There's a couple different directions I'm thinking about going with the frame and rear suspension. I'm still in the planning stages for all that. Have to do something though because it will twist with that torque.

I like the weld in sub frame connectors for strength and ground clearance but then the front sub frame becomes fixed. Bolt in sub frame connectors would be nice to keep things easy to take apart but not near as strong and they hang low.

As for the rear I think I think I will add a cross member but not for ladder bars, just to move the shocks inboard. I think CalTracs (http://www.calvertracing.com/) should be enough for 10" slicks. Guys are running some pretty good numbers with those.

Decisions, decisions!

Well hell yeah Whiz, that's the point. BTW is that a Challenger or 'Cuda? They're so similar to the untrained eye, not up on my Mopars that much. I can tell you the Wife wanted a 'Cuda, one of those plum ones. We looked around Ebay for one we could afford and the prices of those are sky high. I think we'll have to wait a few years for one of those, maybe when the kids get out of College.

73' Dodge Challenger Original 340 engine with about 50,000 miles on the eng

currently its in the garage getting an overhaul on the engine but money is a factor that its been waiting on haha

Cuda's are hard to come by without paying some heavy prices. Thats really the reason i settled with this car. Me and my dad restored it and it looked nothing like this when we began

and No i am not the guy with the huge belly I am in my car haha

Sweet car Tidy.. hope to still be at it when I'm 80!

My motor's all together except for the A/C, need some lines made. Got a mild TCI 2500 converter, B&M shift kit, B&M Hammer shifter (still need to get that put in though) Put the CalTrac bars on, no connectors yet. Of course the American Racing Hopsters and BF Goodrich tires always make a car look good. Bunch of other stuff you know the drill, MSD, Gauges, tach, timing computer blah blah blahh...

Looking good! Where were the pics taken @?

That's not willard's only car either... they had an issue with his powerglide so he parked the vette and got his back-up out of the trailer... it was a newer SS camaro with a 632ci ... I think he is my new idol, he makes me think of those George Burns movies Oh God... or at least the way those movies would be if I was the lost soul...lol

Hey Blindfish, nice ride! Before I settled on getting a new Camaro which BTW is a 2SS and should be here any day I was looking at a 335i Coupe. Sweet looking car if you ever saw one in person.

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Vehicles/2009/3/335iCoupe/Default.aspx

It was a toss up between the horsepower of the new Camaro or the quality in the BMW, horsepower won out not to mention a few thou less in price. Plus I wasn't real sure about only 300 HP and twin turbos. When you're used to over 400 HP normally aspirated, 300 w/ twin turbos just wouldn't cut the mustard. Could not afford a higher model BMW, I know there's some with 500 HP.
