Skillz

We both started up our car forums around the same time so I thought we'd see how each was developing in our own region. I have taken a path of recruiting my members more than promoting the site to gain a base. Next year we are set to possibly be hosting several events and things are looking good for what I am trying to do.

What kind of traffic did you get for sept? Are you selling your ad space yet/ google ads/ etc?

Hey, it's going fairly descent. No events or anything that I've hosted for the site yet as I'm not really pulling that much money from it. Less than $30 bucks a month.

It's pretty big though, we have over 82k posts and almost 1000 registered users, although only about 30 of them are regularly active. About 50 - 60 members visit the site daily.

I've hosted a few BBQ's that have turned out to be pretty descent, and we used to meet up every Tuesday night at Hooters. Those meets normally turned out fairly descent, but people have stopped coming to them, including myself. Money getting tight these days, haven't been in a few weeks so I'm not sure if anyone still goes or not.

I do plan to host an event at one of the somewhat local race tracks around here though. My car took a crap on me though, so all my money has gone into getting her back up and running.

haha... I am still working on my convertible that I started when we all played on Candyland...lol Well Ok it sat for years but I did move it into the barn oncce I got the doors up and I have started to work on it again.

I am averaging about 40 reg users plus I get a ton of lurkers from the other local site that won't post up. Mostly, we think this is because our core base is the big dogs, so I alot of peeps just read thru the drama...

Last month I had 1800 unique users, around 130k pages looked at and 800k hits which has been prob my best month so far.

We started a top ten fastest list for the area and that's getting my guys all fired up. There aren't many, but we have some bad street cars. I have 3 new entries to add to the list which put us several cars in the 8's @ Bristol.

Last month I had 2200 unique users and 500k hits. Not the busiest month though.

I have stirred a little of a hornets nest with our top ten fastest list we have going. There's already been a couple top spot changes. I haven't made any money off of it but I am trying to get together something now that my new office is operational. I am strictly going for a high impact local approach to adspace tho, I want nothing to do with google ads or anything.

I need to get some DV cams for next year and I want to do some really good coverage from around our area. But I have to get creative because building my new place has drained me.

I do the google ads thing, doesn't really generate much income though. I also have like 3 paying vendors, but I don't charge very much for it. Only $10 per month for a forum.

This is, by far, the most exciting thread I've seen on here since Data Recovery.

I'm sure it doesn't take much to add a little excitement in your life. :D
