Mine to, it's running 99, and 2k4 at ip 127.0.0.1 It will auto detect which game you're running and join you to the server.

Actually that's not his cable modem IP. It has a real IP. Normally two. A WAN side and a LAN side. The LAN side in most cases are 192.168.x.x. 127.0.0.0 is your computer's IP address, regardless. It's the "localhost".

Actually, it doesn't end in zero and it's called a loopback address.

This address is only accessible locally, not over the lan/wan.
