Well, if you're been reading around you know I got the itch to play UT again. So, a server is reborn.

Just wondering if there was a DL spot for UT. Had it on my comp until the HD died a couple weeks ago.

I could try to look up the discs. I'll set about trying to find it and if anyone has a place to get the game, link it and I'll do that.

1. Start by downloading UT here: --->UT 99-DEMO Download<----

File name: UT99-Demo.zip
Folder: /UT_Demo/UT99-Demo.zip

2. After downloading from the above link, unzip and run it.
(this installs UT99)

3. NoDelta Patch: UTPatch No Delta

Once you have installed UT99 then you have to patch it, to do so download the patch from the above link then run it. (this allows you to run UT without registering)
File name: UTPatch436nodelta.exe
Folder: /Patches/UTPatch436nodelta.exe

I went, I got in, then my video puked and I can't seem to get things running right. I'm going to install in Win2k and see if I have better luck.

I'm curious, what happened?

I joined the server and played with the bots but things looked weird... from a distance I could see pick-ups like health and shit. Then I would get up close and it would disappear.

It was weird.

I got back in after I installed on Win2k and things were fine for me, except for that cheater Loque. I gave him and that Tamerlane bastych a piece of my mind. :o

Yeah... I have the bots on experienced and it's showing my rust. I first had them on skilled when I setup the server and they kicked my arse!!! I figured experienced would give most people a chance to get back into form.

I haven't had any video problems. My internet connection just puked last night right after Tempus joined.

Server added, now need moving targets :D

The bots are retardely too highly skilled. It's no fun.

OK... I turned them down. They're on average now.

Yes those bots kicked my ass. I look forward to some fun with you guys in this server. I will be out of pocket till my new replacement MOBO comes in Thursday. Went bad on me today :( My puter in garage is keeping me connected for now

It's all fun and games til Marmaduke show's up on the toys map with the relics! I lost an eye once:p

We're all on the same playing field for now. I think I actually was up on him a couple times so far. BUT... knowing him it won't take long for him to get his timing back!!!

I hope to get in the ole servers again this weekend, if I can, and get my ass kicked heavily by all you guys. I have hardly played UT99 at all in years so I need the practice. I really do hope that most of you suck now so I can win some maps for a change.;) I hope to some of you there.

I'll check on mapvote again. It was part of the server download I got, but using it and the SuperWebAdmin mod wasn't going well.

I had my fill of that game in 2001.

Where is this server located at?

My pings a bit higher then most other servers but the server plays as it's double then what I see. Im guessing pure has alot to do with that.....

I'm going to toss out a crazy thought that it's somewhere in Omaha.

Honestly, it isn't about the number of hops so much as the latency between them.

I just did another tracert and today it was just 13 hops. Why would it be different?

The number of hops can change at any time. It's based on BGP routing tables on the backbones and the current best route to any given ANID or destination. It can even change within providers especially within cable companies restructuring their nodes to balance out the network.

I have DSL.... But anywho, no biggy. I'll just have to live with it.
