Hoser

Hi I'm Hoser, and I just deleted my Xp installation and installed PCBSD.
It seems to work.

Carry on.

Let me know how that works out for you long term... I tried running a linux desktop once, very briefly. Been a few years though.

I will let you know, I've done this a few times in the past but always kept the win xp installation as a crutch. This time I just saved my photos, some mp3s, and my 99 and 2k4 installations. I figured if I burn the bridge, I'll be able to concentrate on this build. PS-it took less then 15 minutes to do a standard workstation installation.

At the outset, I plan to get ut2k4 running on it, setup the Gimp to do my photo mods, and figure out the best way to do DVD ripping. Anything past that would be icing.

I did notice that this distro has a slick windows like installer interface, and runs very smooth, fully detected all my new hardware first shot. So yea - I'll let you know.
