Dumped PC-BSD, installed Fedora Core 7
Even more slick and smooth, it recognized my sata dvd drive off the bat, and is not jumpy and buggy. Pulled my exact nVidia card and sound drivers. Did a standard workstation install, got 106 updates (felt like xp except they went really fast).
So far so good. Installed UT2k4, but it didn't seem to run - I guess I forgot it needs the Play CD until you patch it. Went out and got the latest patch. Best I can figure out how to install it is to just copy it over the existing files. Right or wrong? |

I've been using FC since version 1. I've always like it SuSE is good stuff too.
There's a nix UT2004 Patch here: http://www.linuxhardware.org/article.../08/31/1430232 Also, linuxquestions.org is a really good site for linux problems and other questions you might have about FC or any other distro being used. |
