Assholes from Westboro Baptist Church protest boy scout funeral

Last week, four local boy scouts were killed during a thunderstorm that spawned an F3 tornado in western Iowa, not far from where I live.

A couple days ago, I read on the news that the Westboro Baptist Church, headed by the asstard Fred Phelps, was going to stage some kind of protest during the funerals of the 4 scouts.

You know, I'm a very tolerant person, generally speaking, but I was deeply offended by the thought of these assholes protesting at a child's funeral for no reason I could ever understand.

Imagine my surprise this morning when I stumbled upon one of their demonstration while I was on the way to pick up my mother at the air port.

Perhaps 5 Westburo Baptist Church members were there with another 15-20 counter protesters from the local community. There were more police officers standing around watching the event then there were actual protesters.

I took about 100 photos, put 40 of them on flickr (here) and here are a couple of images from their demonstration.

The reason for this boycot / protest?

From the mouth of Fred Phelps:

God hates Nebraska. God hates Iowa.

God hates these states because members of his church have been arrested and prosecuted in these states for flag burning and disrupting funerals of fallen US Soldiers returned home from the war in Iraq.

God send tornadoes to kill the boy scouts because he is angry at Nebraska and Iowa.

This is the mentality of Fred Phelps and his church of intolerant assholes.

Part of me wishes there was a god who would smite these jerks.

These fucktards are just a bunch of inbreads. I bet if they took some DNA of these assholes, they would all match perfectly. They give true meaning to the word Pumpkin. PUMP KIN! If I was the police chief I would not send officers to this. I would tell some folks to do what is needed to rid these bastards out of the area. (turn a blind eye). That would teach them a lesson. What a bunch of assholes to mess with some innocent children who lost their lives. SICK

Being a Christian, it really irritates me to see people using the church in this way. At least I know that they have to stand before their maker and answer for this one day.
