On the home front...

So, my brother loaned his back up car to my sister. She loaned it to her live-in boy friend to drive. The mastermind doesn't have a license and got pulled over.

Here's what now has to happen. Either the boyfriend gets the ticket for driving with no license and my brother's insurance gets jacked way up for letting an unlicensed driver drive his car or he has to say he doesn't know the guy (he doesn't), it gets filed as stolen and the guy can go to jail.

Just for kicks-what would you do?

Depends on the family relationship.

You know the prick won't cover the higher insurance if you go that route.
You know he'll come back and burn down the house after he gets off if he goes to jail.

Christ, I dunno.. Maybe he should eat the higher insurance and chalk it up to stupidity..
I'm sure that will strain the relationship with your sister though.

Perhaps you should all go to the Bahamas for the weekend and discuss it.

Maybe your sister needs to suck it up and be responsible for her own error in judgment (letting Dipstick drive the car) and eat the expenses involved herself? But if the BF lied to her about having a license, let him sit in the pokey.
